bitFlyer USA, Inc. is looking for an Accounting Manager to perform detailed accounting, finance and headquarter reporting to bitFlyer Holdings, based in Japan. Reporting directly to the CFO (US) and working closely with the US management, the successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight of all regulatory, financial and management reporting for bitFlyer USA.  

We are looking for a candidate who has a positive attitude and is highly motivated to learn and grow within the organization, with a proven ability to thrive in a fast paced multi-task oriented environment. This position will play a crucial role in meeting our regulatory, financial and tax reporting obligations in US. You will work and collaborate closely with many stakeholders across the organization, including regulatory compliance, tax, treasury and operations.


What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Prepare and coordinate quarterly and ad-hoc regulatory reports for regulators in US
  • Assist with internal, external and regulatory audits.
  • Work with counterparts in EU and Japan to ensure US activities are recorded correctly in our books and records under USGAAP
  • Determine accounting treatments of business activities in discussion with the auditors
  • Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions
  • Prepare annual financial statements
  • Work with tax advisors to ensure all required filings are completed accurately and on time
  • Draft and maintain reporting & regulatory policies and procedures and ensure compliance with key controls
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal parties to support intercompany activities
  • Monthly Management reporting for the US Management
  • Collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams to recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the reporting process.
  • Assist in implementation and improvement of accounting / financial systems when required

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • 5+ years experience as an accountant (or auditor)
  • Good knowledge US GAAP, Certified Public Accountant is a plus
  • Strong analytical, communication and computer sills
  • Self-motivated and able to multitask
  • Desire to work in a fast growing and agile business
  • Outstanding organization skills and attention to detail
  • Enjoys working in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with accounting software / ERPs , such as Quickbooks and / or Netsuite.
  • Experience with IFRS and / or US GAAP
